My setting is situated in a garage conversion to the side of my semi detached house. It is laid out as a play room for the children to play, learn and develop in. The children have access to a variety of resources and activities. These include a wide range of dressing up clothes, a kitchen with play food, dolls and accessories, books where the children can either have read to them or they can sit on cushions to read, construction resources including a marble run and train track. I have a wide range of arts and crafts.
My garden is secure allowing the children to play in a safe environment where they can explore different toys and activities. The garden is used all year round giving the children the chance to enjoy play in different weathers which they love.
Throughout the year I have different types of wild life in the garden. I collect tadpoles and watch them turn into frogs, caterpillars which we watch turn into butterflies and different bird feeding areas where the children can watch the different species of birds.
I plan outings for the children to a variety of places. These can include going to the beach to collect shells and pebbles, going to the local farms to see different animals and to the woods, giving them the opportunity to explore the outdoors and different environments.
I endeavour to spend as much time as I can outside, come rain or shine.
